2024 Banquet Thank you to everyone who attended our annual banquet. We had a great turnout. Darren Lytle was recognized during our regular months meeting for 5 years of service. During our tradition of passing the hat and donating the money to a local organization. This year we collected $590 dollar and the money went to the backpack program. Members recognized for the number for calls made throughout 2023. Christmas Party 2023 Our department Christmas party was December 2nd. Department members and spouses gathered together for a fun filled evening. Scott and Angela from Savemore made a delicious prime rib dinner. Members opened gifts from the fire department and the secret Santa exchange. Santa was busy so sparky the dog filled in to hand out gifts. Fun was had by all involved. |

August Drill Night 2022 Members demonstrated their skills using fire suppression techniques on vehicles. They also honed their skills using the spreaders, cutters, and halogen bars to effectively take out windows and completely remove the roof and doors from a vehicle to aid in safe patient extrication. |

Fireman's Picnic 2019 A good time was had by all at the 2018 Fireman's Picnic. The Fire and Rescue Department members and their families gathered for an evening of food, fun, and friendship. There was 35 pieces of meat wrapped and smoked in the pit. The kids got to play games and take fire truck rides. Thank you to the community members who brought meat to be smoked. We hope you and your families enjoyed it. A big thank you to Life Net Air out of Fremont for bringing their aircraft up and enjoying the food and fellowship with us. |

Replacing the old with the new

Braun Manufacturing Tour
Aaron, Brad, and Kyle went to Van Wert, OH to inspect the new rescue squad and tour the plant where it was built. Braun started from a small town mom and pop operation and is currently handed down to the next generations of the family. Pictures include the building, assembly, and fabrication of the Braun box all the way to the finished product of Tekamah Fire and Rescues new addition to the rescue fleet. We are very proud of this squad and the work that went into designing it. |
Fireman's Picnic Friday night before the Firemen's Picnic we seasoned and wrapped 85 pieces of various types of meat to be smoked in the pit. Saturday morning the meat was placed in the pit around 5 am and smoked all day until about 6pm. Family and friends joined the department members for our Annual Fireman's Picnic. The Life Net Helicopter came up from Fremont and landed in the park. There were fire truck rides , and games for the kids. |
August Drill
We stimulated several different scenarios of potential injuries not he football field. With the help of a few football players, we were able to do hand on training. Thanks the Coaches, Dustin Pickell, Trenton Elliott, and Matt Hawkins for spending extra time after practice with our department. |
July Drill Our department and the Herman Fire Department joined together for a stimulated training. We used a smoke machine to stimulate a burning house and used a manikin as the victim. We practiced going into the house and bringing the victim out under dark, smokey conditions. Thank you to John Hundahl for allowing us to use the house for our training. |
125th Celebration We celebrated 125 years of service to the community on July 3rd, 2016. Although slated to be an outdoor event, weather forced us to cancel the fireworks display and move it indoors. Live music by Omaha's popular High Heel Band and free hog roast to thank the citizens for the great support over the years. Roughly 400 people attended this event. |
